umabMrs. Uma Gordon is a Senior Consultant with extensive experience in general fertility and assisted conception. She is the Lead Consultant and Clinical Director for the Bristol Fertility Clinic at Spire Hospital, Bristol.

Mrs Gordon is internationally renowned for her work with hormones. She is an accredited Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) specialist. This involved completing three extra years of higher Fertility training, which only 5% of all specialists undertake demonstrating her commitment to providing the best care to her patients. She also has extensive experience managing both Female and Male Fertility.

For the last twenty years she has been the Head of IVF Services in Bristol and is also Consultant Senior Lecturer with the University of Bristol. She is very knowledgeable and experienced in assisted conception techniques, e.g. Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).

Aside from being highly qualified, Mrs. Gordon is known for her compassionate and evidence-based approach, providing holistic, patient-centered care.

Surgery

Mrs. Gordon is an accredited Specialist in Reproductive Surgery and has a special interest in Male Infertility and has been Lead for Surgical Sperm Recovery services. Mrs Gordon has developed her own innovative methods which have proven very successful for her patients. She continues to receive referrals from all over the UK and abroad.

Mrs. Gordon is the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) Subspecialist Programme Supervisor for Reproductive Medicine in Bristol (Severn Deanery), supervising and training doctors in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery.

She is also the Module Leader for the internationally reputed Reproduction & Development MSc at the University of Bristol. She organises and regularly speaks at annual Study Days for GPs in the area of Infertility and IVF/ICSI services

Mrs. Gordon has worked as a Consultant Senior Lecturer there since 1996, and is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education. She has many publications and book chapters to her credit.

She is also internationally recognised for her work on the role of gonadotrophins in ovarian stimulation, which resulted in her MD thesis at Trinity College Dublin.

Bristol Fertility Society

Mrs. Gordon is an elected Andrology member of the British Fertility Society. Andrology is the medical speciality that deals with male health, particularly relating to the problems of the male reproductive system and urological problems that are unique to men. She is on the executive committee of the British Fertility Society which is considered the most prestigious society in the fertility sector, formulating guidance and policies for patients.
